Constant Air velocity - Technology
Dependent on changing weather conditions an air curtain needs less or more heat capacity to condition the cold entering outside air. For example in winter the air curtain is set at a higher speed and as a result more heated air is discharged at a higher air speed. However, the higher air velocity produces considerable turbulence, collides with the floor through which a lot of heated inside air escapes to the outside. Besides, the noise level increases which is very unpleasant. To solve these problems, Biddle developed the CA-technology. It consists of an ingenious valve system, which can widen the air discharge opening, depending on the different weather conditions or circumstances. | | Low fan speed, low air velocity, valve is half open. | Highest fan speed, valve opens, air velocity remains constantly low. | As soon as the air curtain is set at a higher fan speed, the discharge width will increase, allowing the wider air stream to produce more heat at the same constant air velocity and low noise level. - The wider air stream means a better downward penetration
- The air stream is hardly perceptible
- More entering cold air is heated up
- Result: optimal comfort and efficiency
